Position Summary
Our client’s Mississauga facility is seeking an experienced Machinist The successful candidate will independently plan and perform all operations required to set up and operate turning and non-turning machines. This role requires sound judgment in selecting cutting tools, work-holders, attachments, and accessories, as well as taking initial and corrective actions to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish of machined components.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and work from blueprints, sketches, design drawings, sample parts, oral instructions, and specified tolerances
- Perform tool proving and provide training support related to turning and/or non-turning operations, as required
- Mount, align, and secure work-holders, tooling, attachments, CNC/NC programs, and precision measuring devices
- Inspect and verify dimensions of completed work
- Follow established plans of operation, including blueprints, process sheets, operation sheets, and tool layout charts
Position Requirements
- Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship or a combination of 4 years of relevant work experience and/or industry machining courses (eligible for Trade Certification)
- Trade Certification required
- 3–5 years of experience as a Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, or Machining Tool Operator
- Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods and Contract Security clearances
