Our client, a respected law firm recognized for delivering strategic, practical, and client-focused employment law solutions, is seeking an Employment Associate to join their team. This role is based in a hybrid model, with 2 days in the office .
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and representation on employment law matters, including wrongful dismissal, human rights, workplace investigations, and employment contracts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, policies, and other employment-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and other materials for client matters and litigation.
- Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage client files, timelines, and deliverables efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law developments, case law, and regulatory changes.
- Support business development and client relationship initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in employment law.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, case law, and workplace regulations.
- Experience in both litigation and advisory work preferred.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
