The opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Research Analyst to join our team at our downtown Toronto office. In this role, you will drive the development and delivery of investment insights that shape our portfolio strategies across all asset classes. You will work closely with portfolio managers, advisors, and senior leadership to conduct detailed analysis, monitor portfolio performance, and communicate research findings that guide data-driven investment decisions. This is a full-time, on-site role (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct fundamental and technical research across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
- Analyze macroeconomic trends, sector developments, and company-specific performance to identify investment opportunities.
- Prepare detailed investment reports and performance reviews for internal and client presentations.
- Support ongoing monitoring of portfolio risk metrics and performance attribution.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to refine investment strategies and asset allocations.
- Communicate complex financial insights in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
- Stay up to date on market developments, geopolitical shifts, and regulatory updates impacting global markets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline (CFA designation or Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment research, portfolio analysis, or a similar role within financial services.
- Proven ability to generate actionable investment insights and contribute to sound portfolio decisions.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and modeling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to simplify complex financial analysis for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with research databases and financial modeling tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, FactSet, or similar).
