About the Position
Our Talent Management team is seeking an Acting Director, Student Programs in our Toronto office, for a 13 to15-month period, depending on the successful candidate’s availability to start.
This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated professional with a passion for recruitment and career development. Managing our law student programs is a vital part of the firm’s success, and we are looking for someone who thrives in both an independent leadership role and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Talent Officer, the Acting Director will work closely with the Toronto Student Committee and the Talent Team to oversee and deliver all aspects of the Toronto office’s student programs. This includes recruitment, onboarding, workflow management, social integration, mentoring and performance evaluations. Please note that this position requires on-site presence five days per week.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- JD degree or equivalent
- Experience practising in a large firm or organization, or experience working in a law school setting
- Strong leadership abilities with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and a keen eye for detail
- Proactive critical thinking and sound judgment
- Project management expertise and excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and departments
- A high level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
