Install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supportsSelect, measure, cut, ream and thread pipeLiaise with management, engineers and other tradesInstruct apprenticesConnect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipmentInstall clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power toolsInstalls valves, alarms and associated equipmentJoin pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipmentService and repair sprinkler systemTest system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipmentCut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machinesInstall supports, valves, piping and control systemsMeasure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and sizeRemove and replace worn components and reactivate systemTest system for leaks using testing equipmentWeld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systemRead and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
