Job Location: Ilderton, ON (London)Job Type: Full-time, permanent.Compensation: $60,000 to $80,000 per year to start + paid benefits + 2 weeks paid vacation!Shift Structure: Day Shift (7:00 am to 3:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:00 pm)
Key Responsibilities:· Establish design specifications by reviewing blueprints, structural requirements, and client needs· Collaborate with sales, production teams and clients to ensure clear communication and alignment· Use MiTek software to create efficient design plans that maximize effectiveness while minimising waste· Oversee project designs and ensure accurate release to production· Mentor and support junior and intermediate design staff to foster growth and quality work
Requirements/Qualifications:· Minimum of 2 years’ experience releasing design work into production· Extensive experience using MiTek software for floor, roof, and wall systems - including trusses, I-Joists, LVLs, and tall walls· Mastery in reading architectural, structural, and mechanical blueprints· Solid understanding of rough framing methods and the overall construction lifecycle· Proven ability to lead complex design projects and effectively resolve design-related challenges· Skilled at creating lean, plant-efficient designs that optimize build plans and cost efficiency· Expert knowledge of local and national building codes, structural analysis, and engineering principles· Ability to provide technical direction, create placement plans, and conduct quality control· Familiarity with product costing and budgeting practices· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel· Strong ability to set realistic objectives and adopt new technologies and practices· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in situations with incomplete or ambiguous project requirements· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills· Experience working with builders, construction companies, or multi-site manufacturing organizations - especially in growing environments is a major asset
