Senior / Chief Mechanical Process Engineer

Our client is a well-established Edmonton-based design-build firm that delivers projects across Canada and the United States. Known for their hands-on approach, they manage every stage of the process from concept and design through fabrication and construction with a focus on precision, safety, and quality.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior / Chief Mechanical Process Engineer to join the leadership team. Reporting directly to the owner, this individual will take full ownership of projects from conception to completion, leading both the technical design and mentoring a talented group of junior engineers and drafters.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all mechanical process engineering activities for design-build projects up to $30M in value.
- Design and review systems involving piping, pumps, tanks, and instrumentation.
- Develop and interpret P&IDs and 3D models.
- Manage project delivery from initial concept through detailed design, fabrication, and commissioning.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure structural, electrical, and mechanical integration throughout the build.
Qualifications
- P.Eng designation (Mechanical) required and in good standing.
- Minimum 10+ years of mechanical/process design experience in industrial or design-build environments.
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, 3D modelling, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Proven experience managing projects end-to-end,concept to completion.
- Experience with design-build project delivery is highly preferred.
- Cross-border experience (Canada/US) and/or a dual engineering designation is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
Compensation & Work Environment
- Base Salary: $120,000 – $160,000
- Additional: Annual bonus + comprehensive benefits package
- Work Arrangement: In-office, Edmonton-based role
