Position Description
We currently have a role for an Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic position available for someone ready to get dirty and who is not queasy around the smell garbage and waste! This position is stationed at 5440 53 St SE, Calgary, Alberta .
Position Responsibilities
- Perform service and repairs of all Company vehicles/equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance services
- Ensure service and maintenance practices meet the regulatory requirements
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
- Work in a safe manner in accordance to the provincial regulations
- Perform preventative maintenance services on yellow iron equipment
- Ability to work on call, weekends, and overtime, as required
- Additional duties may be required
Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or 4th year apprentice
- CVIP license would be considered an asset
- Clean drivers abstract
- Waste Management experience would be considered an asset
- Must have your own tools
- English, written and spoken
- Class 3 license would be consided an asset
- Valid class 5 License
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems & troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in uncomfortable, foul-smelling environments
- 5 years related experience considered an asset
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills
- Ability to speak more than one language considered an asset
- Must possess solid time-management skills with the ability to take direction, as well as capable of making some independent decisions
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test
License/Certification:
- Class 5 License (required)
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Certificate (required)
