Job Title: Marine Structural or Outfit Detail Designer
On-site/ Remote/ Hybrid: Onsite
Location: Halifax, NS
Job Type: Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Deliver design solutions in line with design intent, considering the needs of stakeholders such; ensure designs meet regulatory and approval standard
- Coach and guide early-career designers, ensuring technical development and progress
- Manage and execute design tasks with a high level of technical responsibility
- Work closely with the Senior Team Lead and other senior design team members to ensure alignment of design solutions and deliverables
- Perform self-checks and peer reviews of engineering outputs, including Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring compliance with the Detail Design Quality Management Process/System
Requirements:
- Solid leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to coach and develop early-career designers
- Ability to work with a high level of technical autonomy and responsibility
- Strong quality assurance skills, with experience in performing checks and audits of design outputs
- Experience designing in the structural or outfit domains in Shipbuilding
- Proficient in Marine 3D CAD modelling and other design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA)
