Job Title: Senior Automotive Technician
Hours: 9:00PM - 7:00AM (Overnight Shift)
Pay: $31.00 per hour
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Technician to join our growing service team. The successful candidate will work on complex diagnostics and repairs, support fleet maintenance operations, and provide technical guidance to other technicians. This role requires a high level of mechanical expertise, strong diagnostic ability, and the capacity to work responsibly and independently during extended or off-hours shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and electric vehicles
- Perform advanced diagnostics using electronic and manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools for airbag, ABS, BCM and transmission systems
- Support fleet vehicle maintenance, including scheduling, inspections, and general repair
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE requirements, and shop procedures
- Independently manage repair work during overnight shifts when parts suppliers are closed
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to junior technicians
- Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or service technician
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overnight or extended shifts
- Experience working with Japanese and European vehicle manufacturers or equivalent modern automotive platforms
- Experience working with hybrid and electric vehicles
- Experience diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles or high-volume service vehicles
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and workplace compliance
- Some tools will be provided, but generally must supply and maintain personal tools appropriate for the role
Assets – Preferred but not Mandatory:
- Exposure to European vehicle models
- Prior experience supporting or supervising other technician
