Our client is a leading clean technology company specializing in high-efficiency air emissions control systems that reduce odors, VOCs, and hazardous air pollutants.
They are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to lead municipal engineering projects focused on water treatment, wastewater systems, and air abatement technologies. This role involves managing a team, overseeing technical design work, and ensuring projects meet regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Engineers and Drafters working on municipal projects
- Oversee budgeting, procurement, tender documentation, and technical drawings
- Develop engineering plans and specifications for various projects
- Review and approve technical proposals, submittals, and design documents
- Handle RFIs and provide guidance on technical issues
- Identify and implement cost-saving design strategies
- Ensure all designs comply with safety and industry regulations
- Troubleshoot technical problems and provide expert support
- Advise internal teams and clients on engineering-related matters
- Evaluate consultant deliverables and provide feedback on design concepts
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
- P.Eng. designation required
- 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams, ideally in municipal infrastructure (e.g., wastewater, air abatement)
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, mechanical systems, and control instrumentation
- Familiarity with equipment such as fans, pumps, motors, blowers, and sensors
- Able to work independently and travel occasionally within North America
