Our client is a Canadian financial institution, renowned for its stability and its commitment to driving digital transformation in the commercial banking sector. They are a leader in supporting business growth through innovative digital tools and are currently scaling their team to redefine how commercial clients manage complex money movements and operational workflows.
The Role
We are seeking a Content Designer who excels at turning high-complexity financial processes into simple, human-centered digital experiences. This isn't a marketing role; you will be focused on the "nitty-gritty" of UI writing for B2B platforms—designing clear paths for domestic and international payments, tax filings, payee management, and sophisticated user-permission flows.
While your primary design work will be in English, you will play a critical role in the bilingual integrity of the platform. You will be responsible for reviewing, spot-checking, and editing French UI copy to ensure it is technically accurate, fits within design components, and maintains a consistent professional tone.
Key Responsibilities
- Complex UI Design: Author microcopy, tooltips, error handling, and transactional messaging for high-stakes business banking journeys.
- B2B Specialization: Advocate for the business user by simplifying technical "bank-speak" into actionable instructions that reduce cognitive load and support self-serve adoption.
- French Quality Assurance: Perform the final "edit" on French translations. You will ensure that translated strings are contextually accurate for a banking environment and that the French experience is as polished as the English one.
- Figma Integration: Work "hands-in-Figma" alongside product designers to influence the user journey from discovery through to final handoff.
- Agile Collaboration: Navigate a fast-paced environment across multiple squads, managing your own workstreams in Jira and Confluence while collaborating with Product, Tech, and Legal partners.
What You Bring to the Team
- The Banking Foundation: 5+ years of content design or UX writing experience, with a significant portion of that time spent in a large-scale financial institution or a highly regulated B2B Fintech.
- The Technical Edge: Proven ability to document and design for complex technical workflows (e.g., money movement, authentication, or enterprise-level user management).
- The Bilingual Eye: High proficiency in English content design, complemented by the ability to read, review, and edit French copy . You are comfortable using translation tools and have a sharp eye for nuance in French financial terminology.
- The Toolset: You are a Figma power user. You understand how content interacts with design systems and are comfortable managing your workflow in Jira.
- The Residency: You are currently a resident of Ontario or Quebec .
Why This Role?
This is a high-impact position within a core area of the bank’s digital ecosystem. While it begins as a 6-month engagement, this is intended to be a long-term partnership as the team continues to expand its B2B digital capabilities. You will work on sophisticated products that move billions of dollars, requiring a level of precision and strategic thinking that few other roles offer.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is between 50/hr to 60/hr depending on overall experience. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
