We’re working with a well-established mid-sized law firm with a strong plaintiff-side personal injury practice. The firm is looking to add a Personal Injury Lawyer with 2–10 years of experience to its growing litigation team.
The Role
You’ll manage a range of plaintiff personal injury matters from intake through resolution, including motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-falls, occupiers’ liability, and long-term disability claims. This is a great opportunity for a lawyer who thrives on advocacy, client interaction, and building a strong litigation practice in a supportive, mid-sized firm setting.
Types of Files
• Motor vehicle accident (MVA) claims
• Slip-and-fall and occupiers’ liability claims
• Catastrophic injury and long-term disability (LTD) cases
• Accident benefits (AB) and statutory accident benefits schedule (SABS) disputes
• Tort and AB litigation
• Settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations
• Trials and appellate advocacy support
What You’ll Be Doing
• Managing a caseload of plaintiff personal injury files from intake to resolution
• Conducting client interviews, drafting pleadings, and preparing motion materials
• Handling discoveries, mediations, arbitrations, and pre-trial conferences
• Drafting settlement proposals and negotiating resolutions
• Conducting legal research and preparing opinions on liability and damages
• Representing clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and LAT (License Appeal Tribunal)
• Collaborating with medical and expert witnesses
• Maintaining organized and timely file management while meeting court deadlines
What You Bring
• Licensed to practice law in Ontario (in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario)
• 2–10 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience
• Strong knowledge of Ontario personal injury law, tort principles, and SABS regime
• Proven litigation skills — drafting pleadings, motions, and affidavits
• Experience in discoveries, mediations, and pre-trials; trial experience an asset
• Excellent client service skills with empathy for injured clients
• Ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines
• Strong legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills
• Team-oriented attitude and commitment to professional growth
