Our client in Nova Scotia is seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to play a critical role in driving execution across complex, high-scale operations. This individual will bring a strong scheduling or planning background within environments such as shipyards, construction, defense, or heavy industrial projects. Success in this role requires not only technical scheduling expertise, but also the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams, supervisors, and leadership. While primarily office-based, this role will spend regular time on site to ensure schedules are realistic, aligned, and executable. Responsibilities
- Confirm that scheduled jobs and production priorities are clearly communicated and executed as planned.
- Track progress against the schedule, proactively identify delays, and escalate risks or issues in a timely manner.
- Provide real-time floor insights to the Scheduling team and leadership to support continuous schedule adjustments.
- Verify that materials, tools, documentation, and work instructions are in place prior to work commencement.
- Participate in production meetings to align priorities, support shift handovers, and maintain schedule continuity.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts, resource gaps, and recurring execution challenges.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in a technical, engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–8+ years of experience in a scheduling or planning role within shipyards, construction, defense, or industrial environments.
- Strong ability to collaborate with production workers and leadership, with a confident and communicative presence on the floor.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Excel; experience with Aveva or AutoCAD is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of trade drawings, work breakdown structures, and complex project sequencing.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $90,000- $110,000 depending on seniority.
On site 5 days per week in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Relocation available.
