We are looking for an Operations Supervisor to work in Windsor Ontario. As the Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for the following task. Previous Dispatch experience with Certified Carrier required
- Supervise a unionized workforce on daily operational duties
- Daily data collection, analysis and presentation of reports
- Financial reporting on operations
- Vehicle production upfits for MOPAR and Windsor Assembly Plant
- Ergonomic and Environmental system audits
- Health and safety programs
- Development of new programs including bid packages and process development
- Engineering support for existing and new programs
- Implementation of new technologies
- Compile presentations and speak in front of large audience
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- High School diploma and supervisory experience will be accepted.
- 5 years' minimum experience in supervisory, plant and manufacturing production experience
- Previous Dispatch experience with Certified Carrier required
- Knowledge of Business and management principles involved with strategic planning, resources allocation, leadership, and coordination of people and resources in the trucking industry.
- Ability to interface with Plant Production and Dock Personnel Computer skills - ODIMs, CTMS, Omnitracs Knowledge of the Transportation / Logistics industry
- Demonstrated experience supervising 70 drivers per shift, 60 switch personnel, 4 Dispatchers, 2 Union Steward's Ability to discipline work force through Verbal or Written means
- Ability to report Catastrophic events to higher management levels - accidents, injuries, damaged equipment, redirect driver scheduled routes, updated payment coding.
- Ability to manage operations to avoid Production Loss or plant shutdown
- Experience with labor agreements and labor control
- Shifts and times may vary-MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ANY SHIFT
- Finance background is a plus
- Experience in conflict resolution and supervising a unionized workforce is an asset.
- Strong team player with initiative, willing to work both independently and within a team
- Strong diagnostics and problem solving skills
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Familiar with process control, optimization and analysis of data
- Strong background in PC applications (Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, CATS, PFS, HPIMS, ODIMS, PSAP)
- Operations are steady days but shift work may be required
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to United States for meetings.
