ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re hiring a live-in Building Manager in Chilliwack, BC to oversee daily operations of a multi-family rental property. This on-site role includes tenant relations, leasing, maintenance coordination, emergency response, and administrative tasks using property management software.
RESPONIBILITIES
Tenant Relations
- Respond to inquiries, service and maintenance requests
- Enforce property rules and Residential Tenancy Act compliance.
Leasing & Administration
- Leasing administration, rent collection, suite showings, resident screening, issuing notices and move-in and move-out inspections
- Tenant record management, building logs, inspection checklists, and supply inventories
- Manage keys and security devices; includes issues programming and replacing them
- Reporting to Property Manager and escalating major concerns
- Compliance with Residential Tenancy Act requirements and building safety codes
Property Maintenance & Building Operations
- Light repairs and general maintenance
- Vendor coordination for larger or specialized work
- Exterior cleanliness, landscaping, and grounds upkeep
- Fire safety systems, HVAC, and mechanical equipment monitoring
Emergency Response
- After-hours and weekend emergency response (floods, fire, power outages)
- Emergency systems testing and maintenance (fire panels, extinguishers, CO/smoke detectors)
- Security management, access control, and ensuring a safe property environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential property management, building operations, or leasing.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel etc.)
- Familiar with Yardi or similar property management platforms
- Comfortable using mobile apps
- Familiar with digital access control systems
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- Organized, reliable, and capable of working independently.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
