We are looking for a junior or intermediate interior designer to join our team!
Job Type: Contract
Commitment: 30 hours per week
Pay: Negotiable based on experience, starting at $30/hour
Duties
- Work alongside principal designer on projects from concept to completion, including predesign, design development, contract documents, and contract administration / construction management
- Procurement of furniture, décor, and job materials, including purchasing, invoicing, and coordination of shipping, delivery, warehousing, and returns
- Produce AutoCAD drawing sets for both residential and commercial projects, including as-built drawings, demolition plans, floor plans, lighting plans, finish plans, interior elevations, millwork detailing, etc.
- Create 2D and 3D renderings using Photoshop and SketchUp
- Specification of finishes, fixtures, furniture, and decor, and creation of project presentation and specification packages
- Ongoing correspondence with clients, contractors, trades, and vendors
- General administrative duties including material library updates, marketing, sample pick ups / drop offs, etc.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited institution
- Access to a vehicle and a valid Driver's License
- Strong technical skills in AutoCAD and a comprehensive understanding of drawing package standards
- Intermediate proficiency in SketchUp
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage and coordinate numerous projects and tasks at one time
- Proactive and self-motivated
Preference Given To Applicants With
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Enscape or equivalent
- Experience with furniture and decor procurement, order tracking, reconciliation, etc.
