Sales Specialist – Power Generation

SANSOM EQUIPMENT LIMITED has been a leading distributor and service provider for pumps, generators, blowers, valves, VFDs and packaged engineered systems for industrial and municipal applications across Eastern Canada since 1964.
As the authorized distributor for Kohler Energy (now Rehlko) in Atlantic Canada, we are seeking a Sales Specialist – Power Generation to join the Sansom team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role will provide knowledge and expertise for power generation applications in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. This position is ideal for a motivated, technically skilled sales professional looking to grow our Power Generation business and deliver exceptional customer solutions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new opportunities to grow the Power Generation business
- Work with consultants, electrical contractors, and end users to assess customer needs and provide appropriate Rehlko solutions
- Utilize Sansom Equipment’s CRM to manage opportunities and track sales progress
- Assist the Inside team with quote strategy and delivery; negotiate and close deals to drive revenue and meet profit targets
- Build relationships with value chain partners to improve customer solutions
- Ensure seamless hand-off to the Project Coordinator during award and shop drawing approval stages
- Gain expertise in Rehlko’s Power Generation solutions and provide in-depth technical knowledge to customers when required
Qualifications
- Post Secondary Education with 3-5 years of experience in the power generation industry.
- Technical aptitude and an understanding of diesel/gas generator sets.
- Knowledge of the sales process, with an ability to navigate from original request to an effective close.
- Proven sales record with experience developing/implementing business plans for an assigned territory.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities with defined deadlines.
- Solution focused and client centric with effective interpersonal and team building skills.
- Capable of travelling within the assigned territory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
