About the Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven National Account Manager to lead and grow strategic partnerships with major retail accounts, with Costco as the primary focus. This role requires exceptional presentation skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to interpret complex data to develop actionable strategies that drive sales performance and profitability.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at building executive-level relationships, and leverages data-driven insights to deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Costco Account Leadership: Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with key stakeholders at Costco and other select national retail partners.
- Executive Presentations: Confidently present business reviews, proposals, and strategic plans to Costco buyers and decision-makers.
- Strategic Growth: Develop and execute account-specific strategies to increase sell-through, profitability, and market share.
- Sales Performance: Meet or exceed sales and profit objectives established by management.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze POS data, inventory trends, and promotional performance to identify opportunities and optimize results.
- Negotiation & Planning: Prepare proposals, negotiate agreements, and establish pricing strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Budget Management: Establish and track annual account budgets, including sales forecasts and profitability targets.
- Operational Excellence: Conduct regular reviews of sales, returns, promotions, inventory, and replenishment to ensure smooth execution and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align marketing, product, and operational strategies with account needs.
- Reporting: Provide detailed recaps and actionable insights following all account meetings.
- Travel: Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and on-site visits as required (approximately 30%).
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing Costco accounts or similar large-format retailers.
- At least 5 years of experience in the appliance industry or related consumer goods sector.
- Proven ability to drive sales growth and manage complex negotiations.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and NetSuite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in presenting to executive-level buyers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with approximately 30% travel, including travel to the Guelph, Ontario Head Office as required.
- Fluency in Spanish is considered an asset for supporting Costco Mexico
