Our client is a deeply established manufacturer of parts and components for the trades/building materials industry. They enjoy a strong presence and reputation across the North American wholesale, retail, and OEM channels, and have a very clear growth plan ahead. The business is investing in its sales leadership structure, rep agency network, and distributor partnerships to support continued expansion across the markets they serve.
To support current and anticipated growth, the are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead wholesale divisional performance across Canada. Reporting to sales leadership, this role will suit an individual who brings strong
wholesale/distribution partnership knowledge, a hunter mindset, and experience managing independent rep agencies as well as direct employee reports. This position is best suited to someone who has built their career selling plumbing, HVAC, or electrical products through wholesale distributors. That background is considered the strongest alignment for success in this role.
This is a national leadership role focused on supporting revenue growth, strengthening distributor partnerships, expanding market share, increasing brand awareness with substantially sized end users, and holding Sales Reps and rep agencies accountable to performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead wholesale sales performance across Canada -
- Manage and develop independent rep agencies across multiple regions
- Build and execute sales plans by agency, territory, and key accounts
- Identify and secure new wholesale distribution opportunities
- Support rep agencies through joint customer visits, opportunity planning, and pipeline development
- Build and strengthen senior level relationships with wholesale distributors
- Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Track performance through KPIs, forecasting, and budget reporting
- Resolve channel and account issues with urgency and professionalism
- Represent the company at national and regional trade shows
- Provide market intelligence on pricing, competitors, and product trends
- Present new product ideas and market driven opportunities to leadership - Lead regular business reviews with key distributors
- Recommend adding or exiting distributors and rep agencies in alignment with business objectives
- Support internal teams to ensure alignment across sales, operations, and service
Required Experience- Strong business developer and sales orientation
- Background selling through wholesale distribution is strongly preferred
- Direct experience in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical supply channels is the ideal fit
- Minimum 5 years of technical B2B sales experience
- Prior experience managing rep agencies or external sales partners
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to budget, forecast, and manage margins
- Confident in commercial negotiations and senior level customer presentations
- Highly organized with strong follow through
- Able to work independently and within a national team structure
- Customer focused approach to selling and account management
- Flexible to travel extensively (up to 50% - 60%) across Canada and into the U.S. for territorial coverage and to attend relevant industry events, tradeshows and conferences
- Valid driver's license and passport required

Ontario Salary disclosure - base range of $90,000 - $110,000 + significant commission component from established clientele. Benefits include health & dental insurance, RRSP matching, car allowance + mileage.
