Manager, Maintenance and Repairs Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Manager, Maintenance and Repairs to oversee fleet maintenance operations and ensure optimal equipment performance. This role is responsible for managing repair activities across a fleet of 250+ units, leading a team of shop and field mechanics, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive process improvements across multi-location operations.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Supervise day-to-day maintenance and repair activities for a diverse fleet including vacuum trucks, water trucks, pressure trucks, end dumps, and light-duty vehicles
- Assign and prioritize work for mechanics in both shop and field settings
- Review and validate work orders, time entries, and service documentation
- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely inspections (CVIP, tank, pre/post-trip)
- Oversee licensing, permits, and certifications for fleet compliance
- Ensure adherence to TDG, DOT, OH&S, and AMVIR standards
- Keep accurate maintenance records and audit logs
- Analyze fleet performance and repair trends to identify efficiency improvements
- Coordinate with the parts department for timely procurement and inventory control
- Support procurement activities including vendor selection and contract management
- Collaborate with operations to dispatch mobile mechanics and minimize downtime
- Contribute to specifications for new equipment purchases and upgrades
Your strengths include: - Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification (CVIP preferred)
- 10+ years of leadership experience in maintenance or fleet management
- Valid Class 5 license (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset)
- Strong knowledge of TDG, DOT, OH&S, and weight regulations
- Expertise in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Ability to manage multi-site operations and diverse teams
- Skilled in maintenance tracking systems and reporting tools
- Oil and Gas industry experience is highly desirable
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management capabilities
