Data Scientist
Job Description
The Data Scientist will leverage modern AI/ML technologies to develop applications that address challenges in process and equipment reliability, as well as optimization within process industries. This role involves designing and leading comprehensive, data-driven analytic studies, conducting research, and translating concepts into production-ready solutions that deliver measurable business value.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI/ML applications for process and equipment reliability and optimization.
- Design and lead analytic studies on large, complex datasets.
- Research and create innovative, data-centric solutions for industrial problems.
- Translate research concepts into sustainable, production-ready solutions through programming.
- Define and document functional requirements for new applications and solutions.
- Configure and develop networking tools to connect on-premises and cloud-based industrial data sources.
- Support deployment and operationalization of machine learning models and algorithms.
- Build dashboards and GUIs for data visualization using tools like Power BI and Grafana.
- Contribute to feature engineering, predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and advanced AI applications such as deep learning and reinforcement learning.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Hands-on experience in process industries with proven data-driven problem-solving.
- Proficiency in programming languages: Python, LUA, Go.
- Solid understanding of process and engineering systems fundamentals.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as linear regression, decision trees, and neural networks.
- Understanding of advanced statistical methods like multivariate analysis, probability distributions, and hypothesis testing.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving skills focused on solution and product development.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Creativity, adaptability, and entrepreneurial mindset.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with Databricks and Microsoft Fabric platforms.
- Knowledge of databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB.
- Experience creating dashboards using Power BI and Grafana.
Work Environment
This role offers a flexible work-from-home/hybrid policy, with new hires encouraged to work onsite 4-5 days per week, though no schedule is mandated. Working hours are flexible, typically 8-5 pm, with accommodations for personal responsibilities. Rarely requires travel to site, and candidates not wishing to travel are welcome. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
