Heliconia is seeking a full-time Media Sales Representative to sell strategic, multi-platform media partnerships and sponsorships spanning traditional broadcast television, YouTube, and social media. This role is responsible for managing existing partner relationships and developing new business across the outdoor sector.
The Sales Representative reports to the Director of Sales and plays a core role in shaping and closing partnerships across Heliconia’s active series and platforms.

Responsibilities:
Business Development & Account Management:
- Prospect and develop new B2B partnerships with senior decision-makers including Presidents, CMOs, VPs, and Directors.
- Engage clients through a consultative sales approach, understanding their marketing objectives and challenges to develop customized, value-driven media solutions.
- Grow existing client relationships by identifying new opportunities, renewals, and upsell potential.
- Work alongside hosts and own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract execution.
Sales Execution:
- Lead the creation of proposals, presentations, and follow-ups tailored to client objectives.
- Negotiate partnership agreements and close deals with a clear understanding of scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate and current records in Heliconia’s CRM system.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and project hosts to ensure sold partnerships are executable and aligned.
- Contribute to case studies, sales materials, and best practices as the business evolves.
Industry Representation:
- Represent Heliconia at key industry events and trade shows in Canada, the United States, and occasionally internationally.
What We’re Looking For:
Sales Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of closing and nurturing long-term relationships.
- Strong consultative selling skills, including prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing.
- Experience selling media, sponsorship, broadcast, or digital marketing solutions is a significant asset.
Professional Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot) and standard business tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva (or similar), and AI platforms.
Industry Fit (Asset, Not Mandatory):
- Familiarity with the outdoor, travel, tourism, or lifestyle industries.
- Familiarity with the fishing industry.
- Interest in media, storytelling, and audience-driven marketing solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to sell meaningful, high-quality media partnerships with a high degree of autonomy, suited to a salesperson who values long-term partnerships over transactional deals. The role is designed to grow in scope and responsibility, with high performers taking on expanded accounts, increased ownership of strategy, and progression into senior or lead-level responsibilities over time. Growth is tied to increased responsibility, autonomy, and influence, rather than tenure alone.
