About the Project:
The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometers farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components.
Position Overview:
The PLAA Coordinator position involves actively contributing and assisting the PLAA team to successfully obtain all necessary permits, licenses, approvals and agreements, and to ensure all obligations outlined in the Project Agreement are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist PLAA Senior Staff with various permits, licenses, approvals and agreements
- Assist the PLAA Manager in scheduling, arranging, and coordinating meetings with the city and other external stakeholders.
- Prepare agenda and minutes of meetings for all meetings under the teams responsibility.
- Utilize the PLAA Tracking System to track the progress of PLAAs throughout the project.
- Liaise with relevant internal teams to identify and communicate PLAA statuses
- Arrange, schedule, coordinate, and align the PLAA/Lands teams objectives with interdisciplinary cross-functional working groups, including but not limited to design teams, consultants, and construction teams.
- Collect, organize, and submit relevant documents required for successful permit applications and other approvals.
Qualifications:
- Interest in major infrastructure and transit infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures, and permit requirements, including the Ontario Water Resources Act, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Planning Act (Ontario), Metrolinx Act, 2006 (Ontario), Municipal Act (Ontario), Conservation Authorities, railway corridor infrastructure, and related construction projects.
- Bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, urban planning, environmental science or related field.
- Minimum of 0-3 years of professional experience.
- Some experience in the design and/or construction industry or major infrastructure project is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of commonly used desktop applications such as MS Office, Adobe, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Sharepoint.
- Interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in high-paced environments.
- Eligibility to Professional designations is an asset such as EIT, GIT, RPP, PMP, OAA, or any other project Management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, third-party permits, and approval processes, as well as property approvals pertinent to large infrastructure and transit projects.
- Sound judgment, excellent problem-solving skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to liaise with consultants, contractors, and Governmental Authorities.
