The Construction Foreman is responsible for leading and executing all construction, infrastructure, and grounds-related projects at the Golden Skybridge. This role oversees a multidisciplinary construction team and ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term asset development. This role plays a key leadership role within the Operations department, coordinating labour, equipment, materials, and timelines while maintaining compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company policies..
This is a fixed-term contract, beginning immediately thru to December 31st, with the possibility (by mutual agreement) to extend the contract at the end of the fixed-term; there will be a probationary period of least 90 days. .
The Foreman position typically involves early mornings and some extended days, project dependant. The Golden Skybridge, located amidst six stunning National Parks, is an incredible place to live and work. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, supervise, and work alongside the construction team, consisting of Carpenters, Labourers, Machine Operators and fabricators
- Part of the planning, coordination, and execution of all construction and general maintenance projects across the site
- Oversee trail construction and maintenance, fencing, boardwalks, platforms, and structural builds
- Perform ongoing building and facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
- Coordinate landscaping and site improvement projects in collaboration with Operations leadership
- Assign daily tasks, manage workloads, and ensure projects are completed on schedule
- Operate and oversee the safe use of heavy equipment, power tools, and machinery
- Ensure job sites are kept clean, organized, and safe at all times
- Identify hazards, conduct job hazard analyses, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC, environmental regulations, and company Health & Safety policies
- Maintain tools, equipment, and construction materials in good working order
- Track material usage and communicate supply needs to the Operations Manager
- Provide regular status updates and feedback around labour utilization regarding manpower, equipment, and any project challenges
- Drive continuous improvement efforts with focus on efficiency, quality, and durability of builds
- Assist with seasonal setup, teardown, and special projects as required
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFIATONS
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven experience leading construction or maintenance teams, preferably in outdoor or remote environments
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry, general construction, and site maintenance practices
- Experience operating or overseeing the use of construction equipment and power tools
- Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements and hazard management
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to read plans, drawings, and project specifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a diverse team
- Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions experienced in Golden, BC
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 90 lbs regularly
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Availability to early mornings; weekends, and evenings as operationally required
Considered an asset
- Red Seal Carpentry or other relevant trade certification
- First Aid certification
- Experience with trail building or landscaping in mountainous terrain
- Experience working in tourism, resort, or adventure attraction environments
- Experience coordinating contractors or external service providers
The starting wage for this role is the equivalent of $34.00/hours.
