Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Material Handler to join our team in Grande Prairie, Canada. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and maintaining accurate inventory levels. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent organizational skills, and a customer-focused approach.
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders with a high level of accuracy
- Receive, count, and verify incoming materials from vendors and customer returns
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
- Identify and report any inventory discrepancies or damaged materials
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations
- Assist in servicing customers at the counter when needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Complete necessary documentation for shipments, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods paperwork when required
- Perform cycle counts and participate in inventory management activities
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding any issues or concerns
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in basic math and computer skills
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items regularly
- Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following all safety protocols
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloads
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management principles
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse or material handling roles
- Familiarity with HVAC and building products
- Experience using warehouse management systems (e.g., M3) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Additional Information
Salary Range- $50,000-60,000 per year.
