THE ROLE:
The Maintenance Tech 3 is responsible for Respond to daily hotel guest and dormitory maintenance needs, and assisting in ensuring these concerns are dealt with in a timely manner. Any issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner should communicated with the Chief Engineer for next steps
ACTIVITIES:
The duties and responsibilities for the Tech 3 position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Help maintain HVAC equipment filter change program
- Help maintain swimming pool, hot tub water and equipment
- Assist in repair of equipment on property
- Minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry and kitchen equipment repairs
- Respond to housekeeping maintenance calls and/or projects as assigned
- Respond to daily hotel guest, and dormitory calls
- Participate in hotel’s guest rooms preventative maintenance program
- Assist in organizing materials as required
- Report broken or misused equipment to Building Manager
- Snow removal
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues, respond to requests in a timely manner, and assist in achieving the Departmental and Hotel goals
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper department attire and nametag when working.
- Comply at all times with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Other duties as assigned.
- Very Heavy work – Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in maintenance or related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to handle power tools, equipment, and chemicals safely.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Shift work availability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects when necessary up to 100lbs.
- Possession of a class 5 driver’s license
