The Opportunity
The Ottawa Senators are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented intern to join our Communication team as a Communication / Media Intern. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with an NHL franchise and become fully engaged in the business of a major league sports team.
As the Communication/Media Intern with the Ottawa Senators, you will gain hands-on experience in the realm of sports communication and media relations. This internship offers the opportunity to work closely with the communications team, contributing to the effective management of media operations during regular season and playoff games. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for sports communications.
Term: This is a full-time internship placement from September 2026 April 2027.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the media accreditation table for all Senators and Black Bears regular season and playoff games
- Assist Senators staff during regular and playoff games with press box operations
- Assist with post-game media relations
- Assist in producing and editing media information and stat documents
Qualifications (what we look for)
- Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program requiring a placement for credit
- Strong communications skills in English
- Excellent customer service

- Good knowledge of Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

What We Offer
This internship offers an annual salary of $37,000, pro-rated for the duration of the term, along with hands-on, real-world experience in the sports industry. Interns receive two weeks of vacation accrued monthly and pro-rated to the length of the internship, as well as paid sick leave. The organization also has an active social committee that hosts multiple events throughout the year, and interns are welcome to attend these social engagements, along with opportunities to volunteer at signature events with the Senators Community Foundation.
