Job Summary
ConocoPhillips Canada is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to support the Supply Chain Operations and Maintenance team. The scope covers contract formation through to administration. This role will support the Production Operations teams at our Montney and Surmont regions with category management for Shared Services.
Position Overview
The Supply Chain Coordinator is an integral role elevating our requirement for commercial expertise with external suppliers and contractors and developing and maintaining support with internal Business partners. The Supply Chain Coordinator manages, assists, and facilitates pre/post contracting and sourcing activities relating to ConocoPhillips Canada. The scope covers contract formation through to administration. This role will support the Production Operations teams at our Montney and Surmont regions with category management for Shared Services contracts.
Responsibilities: - Provide commercial and contracting expertise for Operations and Maintenance–focused on Shared Services.
- Ensure Supply Chain representation in commercial relationship development to achieve optimal value.
- Support contract development and post-award management, including disputes, claims, scope, and compensation changes.
- Deliver guidance on strategic and routine contracting needs for shared services agreements.
- Participate in and influence supplier and stakeholder negotiations.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to understand supply chain needs and develop strategies that reduce risk and add value.
- Provide enhanced metrics and reporting to track contracting performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with ConocoPhillips policies, procedures, and the Supply Chain Code of Business Ethics & Conduct.
Contract Formation Responsibilities (Pre-Award) - Develop and execute category strategies.
- Conduct vendor pre-qualifications.
- Prepare Tender Evaluation Plans and commercial contract exhibits.
- Prepare and issue RFP packages, coordinating with exhibit and form owners.
- Serve as the lead and single point of contact throughout the tender process.
- Lead commercial meetings (kickoffs, clarifications).
- Lead Terms & Conditions negotiations.
- Prepare Recommendation for Award.
- Execute final contract documents.
Contract Administration Responsibilities (Post-Award)
- Drive change management, validating amendments, claims, and change requests to ensure performance and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with site owners and support functions.
- Manage proper contract closeout per procedures.
- Serve as SCM point of contact for internal audits, ensuring documentation is current and accurate.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration or Supply Chain disciplines
- 2+ years of Supply Chain/Contracting experience preferably oil and gas
- Enhanced software application skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, GEP, and SAP)
- Demonstrated knowledge of contracting terms and conditions, clauses, scope of work and compensation schedule development
- Commercial experience / expertise, and strong negotiation planning skills
- Effective time management & strong organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail & adherence to quality work
- Effective interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build & maintain effective, trusting relationships with internal stakeholders. Strong influence, facilitation & networking ability.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications: - Participation in IACCM (International Association Contract and Commercial Management) and/or SCMA (Supply Chain Management Association of Alberta) is an asset.
- Significant experience in Contract formation management with demonstrated ability to effectively use procurement and contracting knowledge to add value
- Knowledge of Upstream Canadian exploration and Production operations
