Data Platform Manager

As a data platform manager, you will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of our centralized data infrastructure. You'll manage cloud and on-premises data platforms, ensure operational excellence, and empower data teams with secure, reliable, and self-service capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical depth with leadership skills and thrives in driving platform strategy and operations.
We practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions at our Vancouver, BC head office for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you'll do
- Platform Architecture & Delivery
- Design and maintain cloud and on-premises data infrastructure.
- Define architecture for data storage, processing, and access across platforms (Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, Oracle).
- Tooling & Automation
- Provide and maintain self-service data platforms and tools (ETL/ELT, AI/ML, data catalog, lineage).
- Implement automation for operations, deployment, and monitoring.
- Security & Compliance
- Enforce data security, access control, and compliance policies.
- Manage RBAC, encryption, and data masking across platforms.
- Governance & Standards
- Implement data governance measures (naming conventions, data quality rules, metadata management).
- Maintain governance tools such as Azure Purview and Alation.
- User Enablement
- Deliver documentation, training, and onboarding for platform users.
- Act as a trusted advisor for data teams leveraging platform capabilities.
What we're looking for
- 3+ year of experience in people management.
- 6+ years of experience in data platform engineering or data management.
- Strong expertise in cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake) and data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, orchestration tools (Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect), and data governance solutions.
- Solid understanding of data security, compliance, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Cognos) and advanced analytics platforms is an asset.

Annualized Compensation Range
$140,000.00 - $145,000.00
This job is eligible for a company performance bonus in addition to the compensation range above.
Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
