Junior/Intermediate Project Manager
- Location: Vancouver Hybrid (Canada - Travel to customer sites and SDE offices may be required)
- Employment Type: Full Time
- Reports to: Director of Project Management
Company Overview
At Sacré-Davey, we are a privately held, multi-disciplinary engineering and project management firm serving the mining, energy, and industrial sectors. With offices across Canada, the United States, and the Philippines, we provide global expertise to help our clients de-risk and maximize project value.
Our core work includes mineral processing facilities, brownfield and greenfield mining projects, and supporting infrastructure, with selective involvement in emerging energy and decarbonization initiatives. Sustainability, safety, and practical innovation guide how we deliver projects across heavy industry.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior to Intermediate Project Manager to support the delivery of mining and heavy industrial projects across multiple stages of execution. This role is well-suited to a developing project manager who has hands-on experience supporting or leading small to mid-scale capital projects and is ready to grow under the mentorship of senior project leaders.
You will support projects from proposal development through execution and commissioning, contributing to planning, coordination, client communication, and project controls. While the primary focus will be mining and industrial projects, there may be opportunities to gain exposure to energy transition and decarbonization initiatives over time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Delivery & Coordination
- Support the planning and execution of mining and industrial projects, including brownfield upgrades and discrete capital work packages.
- Assist with the development of project plans, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.
- Track project progress, risks, and actions to support on-time and on-budget delivery
2. Technical & Commercial Support
- Contribute to scope definition, cost estimating, and schedule development during proposal and early project phases.
- Support change management, forecasting, invoicing, and basic contract administration activities.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to coordinate deliverables.
3. Stakeholder & Client Communication
- Support client communications through meeting coordination, progress reporting, and documentation.
- Assis stakeholders in preparing presentations, status updates, and decision materials.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Support compliance with engineering standards, health and safety requirements, and Sacré-Davey quality systems.
- Participate in project reviews and help capture lessons learned to improve future project execution.
5. Continuous Improvement & Growth
- Contribute to proposal development and business development activities as required.
- Actively develop project management skills through mentorship, training, and exposure to increasingly complex work.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be eager to grow as a project manager within the mining and heavy industrial sector.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Understand the fundamentals of project controls, cost, schedule, and risk management.
- Be adaptable and comfortable working in dynamic, execution-focused environments.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5-10 years of project delivery experience, ideally within mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience supporting or leading small to mid-scale capital projects and/or brownfield modifications.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project) and basic cost tracking.
- Working knowledge of project controls, change management, and reporting.
- Exposure to proposal development and execution planning is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Additional Assets
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or working toward certification.
- Site or construction experience in mining or industrial environments.
- Bilingual in French and English.
