Job details Location: Brampton, ON L6W 4N9 Work location: On site Salary: 36.00 hourly / 30.00 hours per week Terms of employment • Permanent employment • Full time Early morning, Evening, Morning, On call, Day, Weekend, Overtime required Starts as soon as possible Benefits: Financial benefits 1 vacancy Languages: English Education: No degree, certificate or diploma Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. Work site environment • At heights • Noisy • Dusty • Outdoors Work setting • Construction • Various locations • Renovation • Commercial • Industrial • Institutional • Residential Level of expertise • Maintenance and repair Tasks • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites • Survey building locations and levels • Instruct apprentices • Supervise other workers • Estimate costs and materials • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments Supervision: 3-4 people Credentials • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools Transportation/travel information • Willing to travel regularly • Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities • Bending, crouching, kneeling • Combination of sitting, standing, walking • Handling heavy loads • Large workload • Physically demanding • Tight deadlines • Work with minimal supervision Own tools/equipment • Safety equipment/gear • Steel-toed safety boots • Hard hat • Safety glasses/goggles Personal suitability • Accurate • Client focus • Efficient interpersonal skills • Judgement • Reliability • Team player • Values and ethics • Punctuality Financial benefits: Gasoline paid Employment groups This employer promotes equal employment opportunities for all job applicants, including those self-identifying as a member of these groups:
