Install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supportsSelect, measure, cut, ream and thread pipeSchedule materials, tools and personnelLiaise with management, engineers and other tradesInstruct apprenticesConnect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipmentInstall clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power toolsInstalls valves, alarms and associated equipmentJoin pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipmentService and repair sprinkler systemSupervise other workersTest system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipmentClean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush systemCut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machinesInstall supports, valves, piping and control systemsMeasure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and sizeSelect type and size of pipe requiredTest system for leaks using testing equipmentWeld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping systemRead and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specificationsSupervise workers and projectsRequisition or order materials, equipment and suppliesEnsure health and safety regulations are followed
