Weāre seeking an experiencedĀ Data ArchitectĀ to help shape our data ecosystem and develop scalable data models that support our business transformation. You will play a key role in defining domain data architecture, ensuring data quality, and driving consistency across solutions as we continue building a smokeāfree future.
What Youāll Do
- Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and translate them into robust data models.
- Lead data modeling and design activities with the appropriate methodologies and level of detail.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, governance standards, and business processes.
- Understand and document business processes related to data creation, management, and use.
- Partner with Data Engineers to integrate data models into pipelines.
- Design and govern Domain Data Architecture, ensuring consistency across solutions.
- Ensure effective data integration within the domain.
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to maintain high data quality and integrity.
- Document data models and metadata for transparency and compliance.
- Guide development teams on data modeling guidelines.
- Participate in data architecture reviews and recommend improvements.
What You Bring
- Solid understanding of business processes tied to data creation and usage.
- Expertise in relational, NoSQL, and timeābased data models.
- Experience in data integration, data governance, and master data management.
- Ability to visualize complex data structures and communicate them effectively.
- Endātoāend methodology experience from business requirements to data modeling.
- Experience with data warehousing and BI modeling (Inmon, Kimball, Data Vault, Codd).
- Knowledge of SQL (ANSI 2003/2023), Snowflake, and NoSQL technologies.
- Strong analytical and problemāsolving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in data architecture or similar roles.
- Certification in data modeling or architecture (e.g., CDP).
- Experience with data modeling tools.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy standards.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe 5.0).
- Experience with Snowflake (DDL/DML, SnowSight, Data Sharing/Data Exchange).
- Experience with AWS S3 & Athena.
- Experience with Confluence & Jira (Bitbucket is a plus).
- Solid understanding of data governance principles.

š°Ā Compensation Range:Ā $120,000ā$127,000 CAD + full benefits
