Job Description
The employer is seeking a full-time Child Care Provider to work in a private household in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care, supervision, and well-being of children in a safe and nurturing home environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- The Child Care Provider will perform the following duties:
- Supervise and care for children in the employer’s home
- Assume full responsibility for household duties related to child care in the absence of parents
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment in the home
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to child care
- Organize and lead age-appropriate activities such as games, educational activities, and outings
- Instruct children in personal hygiene, manners, and social development
- Discipline children according to methods requested by the parents
- Support the emotional well-being and overall development of children
- Ensure children’s daily routines are followed consistently
Employment Requirement
Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (3 months to less than 1 year)
Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of related child care experience
Work Conditions: Must be willing to work on-site in the employer’s private home
Security & Safety: Ability to provide references upon request
