Key Responsibilities & Job Functions:

Size, Measure, Mark, Cut reference points, Thread, assemble and placing gas pipe in hangers or in supports for installation of gas lines to furnace, Unit heaters, Fireplaces, Water Heaters and other gas appliances.

Flue gas venting for gas appliances.

Install, Service, Repair and Maintain gas appliances, related equipment and their components like burners, valves, motors and electronic or manual controllers.

Show up at gas leak calls and inspect pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting tools or mixtures.

Repair natural gas appliances and related equipment.

Guide customers about safety features and maintenance of gas components and systems.

Review drawings and detailing to determine the layout of the installation and require material.
Typical Qualifications:

Licensing: Valid TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority) Gas Technician 2 (G2) certification.

Experience: Generally, 1 3 years of experience

Driver’s License: A valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record (abstract) is required.

Education: High School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent is usually required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 60 lbs, with comfort working outdoors or in confined spaces.
