Teacher, Social Justice/Service Learning, Senior School
Full-Time, Fixed-term Contract
September - February
Crofton House School offers a girl-centred learning environment for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Here, students are motivated to strive for their best selves, embracing academic challenge and diverse experiences, guided by staff who know them and believe in them.
Crofton House School fosters a strong sense of community among educators, staff, students, and families. Here, everyone can contribute to the strength of our school, including you.
We offer extensive professional development opportunities, competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Our 10-acre campus offers modern facilities, beautiful outdoor spaces, and a daily connection to nature.
The Ivy Compass program is the heart of experiential education at CHS, moving learning beyond the classroom to foster personal growth, leadership, and engaged citizenship. Centered around four quadrants—North (New Horizons), South (Service Learning), West (World Citizenship), and East (Environmental Learning)—students explore complex issues such as sustainability, social justice, feminism, Indigenous education, and global citizenship. Every grade participates in an annual Outdoor Education trip and two themed experiential “Ivy Days.” The program’s goal is to graduate inspired leaders and socially responsible agents of change.
We are seeking a Social Justice/Service Learning Teacher for the Senior School, central to the South Quadrant programming. This role includes designing and leading hands-on workshops and experiences, mentoring students in service-based projects, and managing community partnerships. As an Experiential Learning Facilitator, you will turn student initiatives into tangible projects that make a meaningful impact.
We are looking for an experienced, student-centered educator passionate about experiential learning and supporting students as they explore purpose and engage with local and global communities. You have expertise in service learning, and human rights education, and you can guide students through dialogue on complex and divisive issues. You value student agency, collaboration with colleagues, and the role of parents as partners in education.
The ideal candidate is approachable, genuine, and supportive, committed to professional growth, reflective practice, and active participation in the life of the school. At CHS, you will work with intellectually curious students and a collaborative, inspiring team of colleagues who share a passion for learning.
This is a fixed-term contract from September 2026 to February 2027 to cover a leave of absence.
