Transdev Canada is hiring an Operations Manager for our Paramedical / Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) division in Calgary
In 2025, Transdev acquired Calgary based company, Aaron Paramedical, a provider of emergency and non-emergency medical services, event support, and patient transport. Aaron Paramedical will continue to operate under the Brand name Aaron Paramedical.
As an Operations Manager with Aaron Paramedical, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a medical transportation service, ensuring safety, clinical appropriateness, regulatory compliance, and the highest level of service for our clients and patients. This role requires strong operational leadership combined with a solid medical or paramedical background to support frontline teams delivering NEMT services.
Your Role
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the division’s daily paramedical transportation operations to achieve the highest standard of patient care, customer service, and employee satisfaction.
- Work closely with the management team, clinical staff, and frontline employees to ensure superior levels of service are delivered to patients, healthcare partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide effective coaching, mentoring, and clinical-operational guidance to employees, supporting both professional and personal development.
- Supervise and lead a multidisciplinary team of paramedical staff, drivers, dispatchers, and support personnel involved in NEMT operations.
- Foster a collaborative, patient-focused, and safety-driven workforce, promoting teamwork and adherence to company policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Manage the daily operations of the paramedical transportation facility, including staff scheduling, dispatch coordination, vehicle readiness, and fleet management.
- Oversee operations in all locations with frequent site visits.
- Foster exceptional client relations and oversee marketing.
- Ensure all trips are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with medical transport standards, service agreements, and patient care requirements.
- Uphold and enforce clinical, safety, and operational protocols, ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare, EMS, and transportation regulations.
- Conduct regular safety briefings, training sessions, audits, and inspections to minimize risk, incidents, and adverse patient outcomes.
- Maintain a strong commitment to patient-centered service, addressing client, patient, and partner inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in service quality, patient experience, and operational effectiveness.
- Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting for the paramedical operations department.
- Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize resources while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, service delivery, compliance, and efficiency, using data to drive improvements.
- Develop and implement action plans to achieve operational, clinical, and service-level objectives.
- Collaborate with external partners, healthcare providers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations and full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Provide medical standby for events, such as Stampede, Calgary Flames games, festivals and rodeos.

Your Profile
- You have experience in paramedical services, EMS, healthcare operations, or medical transportation, preferably within an NEMT environment.
- You possess a paramedic or medical background with a valid EMS, ACP, or PCP certification (or equivalent, as applicable).
- You are well organized with strong attention to detail.
- You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to prepare detailed operational and incident reports.
- You demonstrate strong leadership, team management, and coaching capabilities within a clinical-operational setting.
- You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions based on comprehensive risk and patient-safety assessments.
- You are proficient in various computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
Your Location
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Calgary, Alberta.
- Standard schedule is Monday to Friday; however, evening and weekend work is required based on operational and event needs.
- The role requires travel within Alberta to support operations and events.
- Extended onsite presence is required during major events such as the Calgary Stampede (10 consecutive days).
