Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
Join our team as a Machine Operator in the metal production side of our facility. You will be tasked with using punches, shears, and brakes to form metal pieces for our welding and assembly departments. Production runs typically range from 50-300 pieces at a time, with materials weighing approximately 15-20 pounds. The machinery is new and larger than traditional models. Your role will include performing quality checks on outgoing products, maintaining machines, and compiling basic documentation components. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate punches, shears, and brakes to form metal pieces.
- Ensure quality checks on outgoing products.
- Maintain and service machinery.
- Compile basic documentation components.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in press brake, shear, punch, and press operations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and drawings.
- Experience with machine operating and sheet metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in quality control and general production.
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift.
- Experience working with enclosures and sheet metal.

Work Environment
Work in a brand-new facility located off of 80th Avenue in the SE, which is well-lit, clean, and organized. As an electrical manufacturer, we provide solutions across multiple sectors. The work schedule includes a day shift from 6:30 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday, with a half-hour unpaid lunch, and a night shift from Monday to Thursday, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM (4*10s). All employees start on the day shift for training before transitioning to the night shift, which includes a $2 premium. Protective gear such as CSA-approved boots, welding mask, safety glasses, and gloves are required, and you may bring your own welding hand tools.
