Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
We are seeking a strategic and hands on Director, Digital Servicing to lead the modernization and evolution of Vancity’s digital banking platform for retail, SMB, and commercial members. This senior technology leadership role defines platform strategy, governs architecture, and drives delivery and operational excellence across the digital servicing ecosystem. The Director owns the digital banking platform and associated capabilities, including online account opening, digital onboarding, public sites, web and mobile experiences, and digital product support, ensuring these capabilities are scalable, secure, resilient, and centered on exceptional member outcomes. Operating at both executive and technical levels, the Director translates business strategy into clear technology roadmaps while remaining actively engaged in architecture, vendor governance, and production stability.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at Vancity head office. Our head office is based in Vancouver, but we are open to candidates in BC and Ontario. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands when needed.
A typical day would involve:
- Lead the modernization and continuous evolution of the digital banking platform for retail, SMB, and commercial members across web and mobile channels from strategy through execution and production.
- Provide direct architectural and technical oversight to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient platform design and integration.
- Own online account opening, digital onboarding, public sites, and digital product support capabilities end to end.
- Oversee web and mobile technology stacks to ensure performance, usability, accessibility, and seamless member experiences.
- Drive cross functional collaboration across Technology, Product, Operations, Marketing, and business teams to align digital capabilities with organizational priorities.
- Manage and optimize a complex vendor ecosystem, including contract negotiation, service level agreements, performance oversight, and governance.
- Establish strong operational disciplines including monitoring, incident management, release governance, and continuous improvement practices.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high performing team of engineers, developers, and platform specialists.
- Embed Agile delivery practices and modern engineering standards while remaining actively involved in prioritization and delivery oversight.
- Act as a senior technology partner to business leaders, ensuring digital strategy supports growth, efficiency, and member engagement.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital banking or financial services technology, including experience across retail, SMB, and commercial segments.
- Strong familiarity with modern web and mobile technologies, APIs, cloud platforms, and digital experience architecture.
- Proven experience leading digital platform modernization and owning complex, client facing systems.
- Deep understanding of system integration, cybersecurity principles, and resiliency in regulated environments.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and complex technology ecosystems.
- Demonstrated success building and leading high performing technology teams.
- Experience working in Agile and product led delivery environments.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and executive level communication abilities.
- Strong understanding of financial landscape to inform strategic vision and enable our business outcomes

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $148,000 to $182,800 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
