Crofton House School is seeking an experienced elementary school educator to teach visual arts. Art is taught by a specialist teacher from Kindergarten to Grade 7, with this position focusing on working with Grade 1-5 students. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. This role will be 0.75FTE Art and 0.25FTE Primary Teacher Support.

Responsibilities:
- Create a warm and inviting environment in which young students can learn
- Teach Art in the Junior School with a focus on Grades 1–5, establishing lively and engaging classes (0.75 teaching responsibilities)
- Provide small group instruction in primary classrooms, focusing on strengthening early literacy and/or numeracy skills in partnership with Learning Resources and classroom teachers (0.25 teaching responsibilities).
- Ensure continuity of learning competencies in a vertical and horizontal manner across the Junior School in collaboration with colleagues
- Collaborate with all Junior School teachers to ensure student needs are met while in the Art and Primary Classrooms.
- Implement and integrate instructional technology to support learning
- Implement the BC Curriculum for Art Education
- Be an active and positive participant in the Junior School co-curricular and Athletics program
- Fully engage in the CHS Teacher Professional Growth Plan
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
- Relevant university qualifications, preferably at the graduate level (e.g. Bachelor of Education plus Bachelor of Visual Arts, or equivalent)
- Understanding of how to support diverse learning styles at an elementary level
- Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized with attention to detail
- Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life of the school community
Employment and Application Details:
Classes begin in September 2026 following teacher orientation in late August 2026.

Compensation: $67,516 - $119,652 depending on experience and education.
