About the Opportunity
A well-established manufacturing organization in Ontario is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead its financial operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for financial strategy, cost accounting oversight, and regulatory compliance within a highly regulated production environment. The position plays a key role in supporting executive decision-making and driving financial performance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial analysis
Manage standard costing systems and analyze production cost variances
Ensure accurate financial reporting, including month-end close, inventory valuation, and margin analysis
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Lead process improvements in financial controls, ERP systems, and cost tracking
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to align financial and operational goals
Manage and mentor finance staff while supporting cross-department initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA designation required
7+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership responsibilities
Strong expertise in cost accounting, financial planning, and ERP systems
Excellent leadership, analytical, and strategic decision-making skills
