Opportunity Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation and review of financial transactions and the financial results of a segment of the Company’s operating units. The successful candidate will be an individual with a strong accounting background, an analytical and critical thinking focus who can work with individuals across multiple disciplines to ensure accurate and timely financial results and feedback to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, wage analysis and other KPI’s
- Collaboration with operations team to provide financial support where required, including financial analysis to understand the financial implications of ongoing projects, potential opportunities and/or problems experienced.
- Review of purchasing transactions and assessment of required federal and provincial taxes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Preparation of monthly customer invoices in coordination with operations team.
- Monitor budget variances, investigate discrepancies, and provide insights to support effective budget management
- Collaborate with the operations team to assist in developing annual budgets for the region
- Drive continuous process improvements in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and enhance data accuracy
- Other full-cycle accounting functions as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in core accounting processes is preferred.
- Experience in a collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, grow and develop in the role and into the future.
- CPA designation, or active progress toward completion of the CPA program, is considered an asset.
