Leggat Peninsula Ford is looking for an Automotive Body Shop Technician! As a Body Shop Technician, you are responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will perform structural and non-structural repairs, panel replacement, refinishing preparation, and detailed quality checks to ensure every vehicle meets manufacturer and dealership standards.

Job Duties:
Collision Repair & Structural Work:
Perform structural and non-structural repairs including frame straightening, panel replacement, welding, and refinishing preparation according to manufacturer specifications.
Damage Assessment & Repair Planning:
Review repair orders and estimates, identify additional damage, and communicate findings clearly with management and estimators.
Metal & Panel Work:
Repair dents, replace damaged panels, perform body filler application, sanding, and preparation for paint.
Quality Control:
Inspect completed repairs to ensure fit, alignment, finish, and overall quality meet dealership and OEM standards.
Tool & Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and properly use all tools, equipment, and safety gear. Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures and workplace regulations, including proper handling of materials and hazardous substances.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with estimators, painters, parts personnel, and management to ensure timely and accurate repairs.
Productivity & Efficiency:
Meet or exceed flat-rate hours and productivity targets while maintaining repair quality and attention to detail.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in ongoing manufacturer and industry training to stay current with repair techniques and technologies.
The Body Shop Technician role includes:
Working primarily within the collision repair facility.
Coordinating with estimators and parts department to ensure timely repairs.
Meeting productivity standards while maintaining quality.
Occasional overtime as required to meet production demands.

Strong understanding of vehicle body repair and structural alignment.
Ability to read and interpret repair estimates and manufacturer guidelines.
Proficiency with welding equipment, frame machines, and body repair tools.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
