Salary: Excluded Band 1 - position starts at $64,272 to $74,877 annually

About the Opportunity:
As a Benefits & Employee Records Specialist at CLBC, you will play an important role in supporting accurate and timely HR operations across the organization. In this role, you will process employee lifecycle transactions, maintain the integrity of HRIS data, and help ensure payroll, benefits, and employee records are managed accurately and efficiently.
Working closely with the People Services team, you will provide guidance and support to employees and managers while coordinating with payroll and benefits providers to ensure updates are processed smoothly and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working with HR systems and data, takes pride in accuracy, and finds satisfaction in supporting employees through key moments such as new hires, leaves, and retirement.
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential employee information are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process employee lifecycle transactions in the HRIS, including new hires, staffing changes, leaves, and departures, ensuring accurate payroll and benefits administration
- Ensure employee entitlements, salary adjustments, and leave transactions are processed accurately and on time
- Coordinate HRIS updates related to wage increases, retroactive pay, and other payroll adjustments in collaboration with payroll providers
- Conduct HRIS data audits, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain data integrity
- Maintain organizational and position data within the HRIS, including updates to position details, organizational charts, and FTE information
- Collaborate with payroll providers, internal teams, and employees to investigate and resolve payroll or benefits issues
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on salary administration, benefits, pension, and leave processes
- Support HRIS system administration activities, including access management and coordination of system updates related to organizational changes
- Assist with documentation and information requests related to audits, workforce adjustments, and other People Services processes
- Develop and maintain clear benefits communications and support employees preparing for leaves or retirement
What You Will Bring:
- A diploma or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in a similar Human Resources role
- Direct experience processing HR transactions and working with data in a complex HR or payroll system
- Experience supporting payroll, benefits, or leave administration processes
- Experience working in a public sector or unionized environment is considered an asset
- CPHR designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain data accuracy while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
