Position Title: Corporate and Administrative Services Officer
Location: 100% onsite, 125 Wyse Road, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Term: Approximately April/May 2026 to March 31, 2027, with an option to extend for up to one additional year
Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer or designate
Position Summary
Halifax Harbour Bridges is seeking an experienced Corporate and Administrative Services Officer to provide senior-level leadership and operational support across corporate services, human resources, and health and safety functions. This role will support strategic initiatives, organizational effectiveness, and transition-related activities, including potential integration into Link Nova Scotia. The successful consultant will work closely with the Corporate Services and Human Resources project team during a period of significant operational and organizational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coordination, and operational management across corporate services, human resources, and health and safety functions.
- Support the CEO in implementing, monitoring, and improving internal corporate services and HR policies, processes, and programs.
- Lead and support human resource management activities, including workforce planning, performance management, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and professional development.
- Advise leadership on labour relations matters, including collective bargaining, administration of collective agreements, and unionized and non-unionized employee relations.
- Support the development and execution of annual business plans and strategic plans aligned with corporate services and HR priorities.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Support transition planning and execution for the proposed integration of corporate services and HR functions into Link Nova Scotia, including policy alignment, governance transition, and change management activities.
- Deliver other related corporate and administrative services within the scope of the engagement, as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive experience, or an equivalent combination of education and senior-level professional experience, in business administration, corporate services, and/or senior human resources leadership roles.
- Demonstrated corporate management capability and business acumen in complex and evolving environments.
- Proven experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills, with experience working with employees, executives, unions, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Experience in complex organizations; public-sector, Crown corporation, municipal, provincial, or federal experience is considered an asset.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- CHRP designation is considered an asset.
Work Requirements
- This is a fully onsite role and cannot be performed remotely.
- Services are expected during regular business hours, up to 35 hours per week.
- Work will be performed primarily across HHB office locations in Dartmouth.
- A valid Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required.
- The role may involve periods of elevated pressure due to tight timelines, competing priorities, and sensitive organizational matters.
