The Opportunity
We are seeking an HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations across Arctic Kingdom and Blachford Lodge.
This is an execution-focused role responsible for recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, and workforce administration in a dynamic and remote operating environment. You will work closely with leadership across both corporate and lodge teams, helping ensure consistent and professional HR practices across the organization.
This role reports to the Director of HR, Indigenous Government & Community Relations and is designed to support operational HR execution, enabling strategic HR leadership at the Director level.
What Youll Be Responsible For:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead recruitment for seasonal, lodge-based, and corporate roles
- Draft and post job advertisements
- Screen candidates and coordinate interviews
- Participate in structured interviews and conduct reference checks
- Prepare employment offers and agreements
- Maintain recruitment tracking and candidate records
- Support workforce planning aligned with seasonal operations
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring roles
HR Systems & Administration
- Administer BambooHR and Connecteam systems
- Maintain accurate employee records and digital personnel files
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes
- Support payroll preparation through accurate documentation
- Monitor probation periods and contract timelines
- Track and report on key HR metrics (recruitment, onboarding, training, turnover)
Training & Onboarding
- Coordinate onboarding across corporate and lodge operations
- Ensure completion of required training and policy acknowledgments
- Track certifications and renewal timelines
- Support development of onboarding materials
- Coordinate training logistics for remote and seasonal staff
Employee Relations Support
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and employees
- Support performance management processes and documentation
- Assist with workplace investigations as required
- Provide interpretation of policies and employment standards
- Escalate complex or high-risk matters to the Director of HR
Compliance & Operational Support
- Support compliance with NWT employment standards and company policies
- Maintain employment agreements and job descriptions
- Assist with seasonal staffing logistics
- Support Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) documentation and training tracking
- Assist with WSCC reporting and documentation requirements
- Support ongoing updates to HR policies and documentation
What Were Looking For
Experience & Background
- 35 years of progressive HR experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience supporting recruitment processes (full-cycle recruitment is an asset)
- Experience in remote, operational, or seasonal workforce environments is an asset
- Experience with BambooHR, Connecteam, or similar systems is an asset
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards (NWT experience preferred)
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to work independently and escalate when needed
Working Conditions
This role is primarily based in Yellowknife, NT, with occasional travel to Blachford Lodge. You will support a remote, aviation-access workforce and must be comfortable working in a dynamic, operationally driven environment with seasonal demands.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 $90,000, based on experience
