TIAC is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who is eager to contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven organization while continuing to build their career in finance.
The Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including reconciliations, journal entries, payables and receivables, month-end close support, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
- Help prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
- Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis
- Support payroll processing and related reconciliations as required
- Coordinate documentation and schedules for audits and compliance reviews
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and organizational policies
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve financial processes and workflows
- Provide additional support to the finance team as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA required
- 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Assets
- Experience working in a non-profit, association, or member-based organization
- Familiarity with audit preparation
- Experience supporting process improvements and strengthening internal controls
This position is newly created at TIAC and offers a base salary range of $65,000-$75,000.
