The Organization
The Union of BC Municipalities is a member driven association formed in 1905 to provide a common voice for local governments in BC. UBCM’s vision is to effectively represent and serve all local governments in BC by being the recognized advocate for their common interests and by meeting the common needs of our membership. UBCM achieves this through policy work, program management and member services.

The Position
Local Government Program Services (LGPS) provides administration for Provincially funded grant programs. Since 1999, LGPS has provided funding to local governments, First Nations and other eligible applicants through a diverse range of funding programs and services. The Program Administrator provides administration services to support the operation of LGPS.
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Diploma in office administration or other relevant discipline, preferred
- Must have 2 years of relevant experience, providing administrative services in support of funding programs
The successful candidate must have the following skills and abilities:
- Written and oral communication skills and attention to detail when communicating
- Able to manage multiple priorities and consistently produce results within timelines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, clients (including elected officials) and members of the public while upholding the highest standards of tact, discretion and professionalism
- Advanced spreadsheet skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel) and able to use other standard office, accounting software, and databases.
