If you're also naturally curious and eager to keep learning, consider starting or growing your career with us at The Home Depot.Position Purpose: The Asset Protection Specialist Supervisor (APSS) is responsible for preventing financial loss caused by property vandalism, traditional theft and fraud, organized retail crime, and connected retail fraud within their assigned District. They will lead, develop and coach the Asset Protection Specialist (s) within their assigned district. They will assist the District Asset Protection Manager with internal investigations, AP walks, assist CIT (Central Investigations) with high level organized crime within their assigned district, and maintain their own external productivity. The APSS must remain focused on both AP & District business objectives as outlined by the District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM), as well as keeping the store leadership and district team informed of criminal activity within their assigned district.
Position Responsibilities:
APSS have multi-store responsibility, requiring travel
Responsible for analyzing district shrink performance to identify trends in traditional theft and fraud, Organized Retail Crime, and Connected Fraud
Accountable for District apprehension performance
Monitor and identify associate behaviours and or operational issues through exception based reporting and CCTV that may cause shrink or other profit erosion opportunities and immediately inform DAPM
Responsible to execute AP rollouts within district (ie. Camera Installs, Merchandise protection updates etc.)
Responsible for maintaining physical security requirements of stores
Support with the identifying and successfully investigating matters of internal dishonest activity
Assist Central Investigator to coordinate investigations identified as Organized Retail Crime
Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner for police, HR, and others upon request.
Monitor criminal cases, appear in court and testify as warranted.
Perform store walks
Support stores and recommend solutions to improve Associate Engagement
Manage Asset Protection Specialist Performance, provide timely feedback and complete APS review
Provide Talent Development for Asset Protection Specialist
Experience/Knowledge Required:
Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+ Meets Expectations).
Must have experience as an Asset Protection Specialist for a minimum 1 year
Ability to travel (including occasional overnights) 10 - 20% of the time
Must be at or above district apprehension productivity
Must possess a valid security license for province of employment
Must be proficient with HD CCTV system and exception based reporting
Proficient with SAP
Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive and controversial issues
Strong analytical and financial analysis skills is an asset
Ability to teach, and train associates to drive change and execute process improvements
